Powerful hard drives designed for performance, reliability and power efficiency in small to medium NAS environments.
WD Red Plus drives are designed to handle workloads of power users and small to medium business NAS environments. WD Red Plus drives deliver the speed and capacity required to store, protect and share growing amounts of data in mid-sized RAID-optimized NAS systems with increased power efficiency.
Tuned for NAS with NASware™
Western Digital's exclusive NASware™ technology fine tunes drive parameters to match NAS system workloads which helps increase performance and reliability.
Designed for Continuous Operation
Since your NAS system is always on, a reliable drive is essential. WD Red Plus hard drives are designed for systems that operate 24x7, giving users the confidence of knowing they can reliably access their data.
Tested for Dependable Compatibility
Western Digital partners with a wide range of NAS system vendors for extensive testing to ensure compatibility with most NAS enclosures.
Optimized for Lower TCO
WD Red Plus drives are engineered to use less power (versus previous models) and run cooler, which reduces operating costs and helps reduce heat in thermally challenged NAS boxes.
Powered for Strong Performance
Despite using less power, the drives have plenty of bandwidth to handle the mixed performance demands of multi-drive NAS systems.
Balanced for Increased Reliability
Hard drives that are not properly balanced may cause excessive vibration and noise in multi-drive systems, which could reduce hard drive life span and degrade the performance over time. Our enhanced dual-plane balance control technology significantly improves balance and increases overall drive performance and reliability.
Backed by World-Class Support and Warranty
As an industry-leading hard drive manufacturer, Western Digital stands behind their NAS storage solutions with the assurance of a 3-year limited warranty and world-class support services for hassle free data storage.
Desktop drives vs. WD Red® Plus
It is important to choose a drive purpose-built for RAID-optimized NAS systems to ensure optimum performance and preserve your valuable data. Take the following into consideration when choosing a hard drive for your NAS:
Compatibility
Unlike desktop drives, WD Red Plus hard drives are specifically designed and tested for NAS and include NASware™ technology which fine tunes drive parameters to match NAS system workloads for optimum performance.
Reliability
Desktop drives aren't typically designed for the demands of an always-on NAS environment. WD Red Plus hard drives are designed to perform under tough conditions encountered in high-intensity 24x7 multi-user NAS environments.
RAID Ready
WD Red hard drives are engineered with RAID error recovery control to help reduce failures within multi-bay NAS systems, unlike most desktop drives that are configured for generic use.
Noise and Vibration Protection
Designed to operate solo, desktop drives typically offer little or no protection from the noise and vibration present in a multi-drive system. WD Red hard drives include Rotation Vibration (RV) sensors that anticipate and proactively counteract disturbances caused by increased vibration often found in multi-bay NAS systems.

As an international traveller you are entitled to bring a certain amount/value of goods that are free of Customs duty and exempt Goods and Services tax (GST) into New Zealand. This is called your duty free allowance and personal goods concession. It is important to review these for any purchases you make on The Mall.
Your duty free allowance entitles you to bring into New Zealand the following quantities of alcohol products free of customs duty and GST provided you are over 17 years of age. You do need to be 18 years or over to purchase.
- Up to six bottles (4.5 litres) of wine, champagne, port or sherry or
- Up to twelve cans (4.5 litres) of beer
- And three bottles (or other containers) each containing not more than 1125ml of spirits, liqueur, or other spirituous beverages
Goods other than alcohol and tobacco, whether purchased overseas or purchased duty free in New Zealand, that have a combined total value not exceeding NZ$700 may also be brought as part of your personal goods concession.
When travelling overseas there are legal limits on the amount of duty free alcohol and other goods you can take with you. These amounts will vary depending on the country you are flying into. We always recommend you check the latest limits and exemptions.
