- Mac mini and the Environment
- Progress toward Apple 2030
- Apple 2030 is our goal to be carbon neutral across our value chain. We design our products to be less carbon intensive by prioritizing the use of recycled and renewable content and low-carbon materials while focusing on the energy efficiency of our software and hardware.
- Materials
- Mac mini is made with 50% recycled content,[9] including:
- 100% recycled aluminum in the enclosure and thermal module stage
- 100% recycled copper in multiple thermal module components
- 100% recycled copper plating in all Apple-designed printed circuit boards
- 100% recycled gold plating and tin solder in all Apple-designed printed circuit boards
- 80% recycled steel in multiple components including the logo and fan pillow
- Packaging
- 100% fiber-based packaging[10]
- Energy
- 100% of manufacturing electricity for Mac mini is sourced from renewable electricity[11]
- 100% of expected customer use electricity matched with low-carbon electricity[12]
- ENERGY STAR® certified[13]
- Smarter chemistry[14]
- All of the materials used in Apple products, accessories, and packaging are covered by the requirements of our Regulated Substances Specification, which was one of the first in industry to restrict the use of key substances of concern.
- Remarks
- [1] 1GB = 1 billion bytes and 1TB = 1 trillion bytes; actual formatted capacity less.
- [2] Wi-Fi 7 availability varies by country. For more information, visit support.apple.com/148165.
- [3] Weight varies by configuration and manufacturing process.
- [4] Acoustics measured from typical operator position sitting in front of standard Mac mini system. Acoustics may vary by configuration.
- [5] iPhone Mirroring is not available in all countries and regions. Some iPhone features (e.g., camera and microphone) are not compatible with iPhone Mirroring.
- [6] Apple Intelligence is available with Siri and device language set to Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Danish, Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish, or Vietnamese. Some features may not be available in all regions or languages. Some devices may not be available in all regions.
- [7] Siri AI will be available in beta later this year and requires an Apple Intelligence-enabled device set to a supported language. Available in English to start. Siri AI will not initially be available in the EU on iOS, iPadOS, and watchOS.
- [8] iMovie, GarageBand, Pages, Numbers, and Keynote are available on the Mac App Store. Downloading apps requires an Apple Account and a device that is compatible with the OS version required for each app.
- [9] Product recycled or renewable content is the mass of certified recycled material relative to the overall mass of the device, not including packaging or in-box accessories. Less than 3.5% claimed recycled and renewable content uses mass balance allocation.
- [10] Breakdown of U.S. retail packaging by weight. Adhesives, inks, and coatings are excluded from our calculations.
- [11] We use a mix of supplier and Apple renewable energy projects when sourcing our manufacturing electricity.
- [12] Apple is matching 100% of expected electricity consumption for product use with low-carbon electricity.
- [13] ENERGY STAR and the ENERGY STAR mark are registered trademarks owned by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
- [14] Apple's Regulated Substances Specification describes Apple's restrictions on the use of certain chemical substances in materials in Apple products, accessories, manufacturing processes, and packaging used for shipping products to Apple's end-customers. Restrictions are derived from international laws or directives, regulatory agencies, eco-label requirements, environmental standards, and Apple policies. Every Apple product is free of PVC and phthalates except for AC power cords in India, Thailand (for two-prong AC power cords), and South Korea, where we continue to seek government approval for our PVC and phthalates replacement. Apple products comply with the European Union Directive 2011/65/EU and its amendments, including exemptions for the use of lead such as high-temperature solder. Apple is working to phase out the use of these exempted substances for new products where technically possible.
As an international traveller you are entitled to bring a certain amount/value of goods that are free of Customs duty and exempt Goods and Services tax (GST) into New Zealand. This is called your duty free allowance and personal goods concession. It is important to review these for any purchases you make on The Mall.
Your duty free allowance entitles you to bring into New Zealand the following quantities of alcohol products free of customs duty and GST provided you are over 17 years of age. You do need to be 18 years or over to purchase.
- Up to six bottles (4.5 litres) of wine, champagne, port or sherry or

Goods other than alcohol and tobacco, whether purchased overseas or purchased duty free in New Zealand, that have a combined total value not exceeding NZ$700 may also be brought as part of your personal goods concession.
When travelling overseas there are legal limits on the amount of duty free alcohol and other goods you can take with you. These amounts will vary depending on the country you are flying into. We always recommend you check the latest limits and exemptions.
